Multiple Myeloma Support Group
Help the Cancer Patient Support Program (CPSP) Host Monthly "Lunch & Learns" for Multiple Myeloma Survivors!
Thirty-five thousand seven hundred and eighty people are estimated to be diagnosed with multiple myeloma this year, according to the American Cancer Society.
The quality of life of these individuals is important to us, and that's why we're raising money for the Multiple Myeloma Support Group at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist.
The group is led by multiple myeloma survivors and their family members. The leaders of the group, in collaboration with group members, coordinate presenters to speak on topics of interest at monthly meetings.
Approximately 20 members from both Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist and Novant Health meet monthly for in-person “lunch and learn” events, excluding December.
Past topics include: art therapy, understanding medical test results, nutrition, financial navigation, and identity development after cancer, among many others.
Members socialize before and after meetings, enjoying lunch free of charge.
Your donation will make it possible for the Multiple Myeloma Support Group to continue meeting on a monthly basis.
- $12.50 pays for lunch for one survivor.
- $25 pays for lunch for one survivor and one care partner.
- $100 pays for the use of a conference room, parking, and utilities for one meeting.
- $250 pays for one monthly meeting, including lunches for 20 survivors and their care partners, a speaker, and use of facilities.
- $2,750 pays for a year's worth of meetings, including 220 lunches for survivors and their care partners, 11 speakers, and use of facilities.
Thank you for helping foster educational/social support, self-efficacy, and meaning-making for multiple myeloma survivors!
We truly appreciate your generosity and ask that you spread the word about our fundraising efforts, if possible.
Please Note: All donations are tax deductible.
