My name is Emily LaFontaine and I'm a social worker for the Cancer Patient Support Program (CPSP) at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. 

Cancer is personal to me because I was diagnosed with an aggressive type of leukemia as a young adult and underwent radiation, chemotherapy, and two stem cell transplants. 

I've since been in remission for 8.5 years, changed careers, and am privileged to provide free outpatient therapy to cancer patients/survivors and their family members. I also manage my team's scheduling system, help organize the hospital's Multiple Myeloma Support Group, and am in the process of developing a peer support program. 

The Cancer Patient Support Program exists because of supporters like you; your donations fund half of the program's annual operating budget, including my salary! Specifically, your donations fund individual counseling, support groups, art therapy, yoga, tai chi, and guest musicians. 

I created this account because I'm raising money for the Multiple Myeloma Support Group, which you can learn more about by clicking on the "View My Team" button at the top of this page.
